Subject: Global corrections

Last night I did around 25,000 replacements in the Bosworth/Toller dictionary. Around 21,000 of these were cases where ð was changed to ó, e.g. blðd was changed to blód.

The program I wrote to do this particular operation was very complicated. Even though I carefully checked things at every stage, it's possible that some problems escaped my notice. Please let me know of any problems you find.

Because global corrections can accidentally introduce new problems, the whole system is set up so that global corrections don't affect hand-corrected pages which have already been submitted. Global corrections only affect pages which haven't been corrected yet.

All the the PDF and txt files for Bosworth/Toller were regenerated last night to reflect these corrections. If you previously downloaded files for pages you have reserved, you can either use the old files, or you can download the new files from the "Reservations" page. The only difference is that there should be maybe a dozen fewer errors for you to correct by hand in the new version.
